Vintage Glam Inspiration
Over the past several months I have seen my share of events (bordering on overload) that have been tagged as "rustic vintage" or "rustic elegance." Now don't get me wrong, I love me some vintage, and I have seen some amazing rustic weddings, but I find myself needing a little less "rustic" and a little more focus on "vintage." So, in a dainty yet tasteful ode to the roaring twenties, soaring thirties, and fabulous forties and fifties, I give you a little vintage.

Trend Alert: Chevron Love
Alright, it's Monday and if your day is going anything like mine it has been crazy bananas (and you may or may not be on your um-teenth cup of coffee). Needless to say we are going to start this week off by paying a little tribute to pattern that has been a top trend over the past few months...the chevron. It's fun, a little funky, can be a little sweet or a lot of sassy! So, with that in mind find a way to incorporate it in to your cake, a table runner, the invites, some accessories...Enjoy!!

Seashells By The Seashore
About a month ago, I walked into my one of my favorite stores on a desperate mission to find a new top and slacks. Well, the mission was a monstrous failure, but after meandering around for several minutes I became abruptly aware of some nautical-themed undertones going on amongst the clothing. Okay, maybe "undertone" is the wrong word here; it was like a yacht club came in and exploded. Nevertheless, what a FUN idea for an inspiration board!! Enjoy!

A Touch Of Vintage
I'm a little bit of a sucker for vintage, so I thought I would take a minute to share the love...
Whether you favor the roaring 20's or the mod infused 60's (I have a passion for the 1940's and 1950's myself), tapping into a little bit of yesteryear is not only fun, but a great way to add a theme to any celebration.
Now, if your still looking for an appropriate cocktail dress for your next vintage party, I invite you to visit Couture Allure Vintage Fashion and Posh Girl Vintage. Both websites offer a variety of dresses, shoes, lingerie and accessories spanning primarily from the 1920's to the 1970's. The clothes are gorgeous and are true authentic vintage pieces (generally priced from about $100-$400). ModCloth is also a great pick if you're looking for a unique twist on vintage and retro fashion. ModCloth does offer a selection of authentic vintage pieces, but also focuses on vintage reproductions and interpretations, as well.
